Meet Quinn
Quinn Laird has dedicated his life to serving the people of Williamson County. With a B.S. in Finance from Southern Illinois University, Quinn began his professional journey in banking before answering the call to public service. In 1997, he joined the Herrin Police Department, where he worked his way up from patrolman to Sergeant, and eventually to Chief of Police — a role he held until his retirement in 2020.
As Chief, Quinn led from the front. He chaired the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group, served on the Williamson County 911 Board, and founded Herrin’s K-9 Unit using private donations. His leadership earned him the 2015 Citizen of the Year award from the Herrin Chamber of Commerce.
After retiring from law enforcement, Quinn returned to banking and currently serves as Community Bank President at Farmers State Bank. He is an Accredited Banking Professional and Certified Commercial Lender, bringing financial experience and accountability to every role he takes on. He also served as 2024 President of the Herrin Chamber of Commerce and continues to serve on its Executive Committee.
Quinn is an active member of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and the Williamson County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 197.
“My career has always been rooted in service — whether that’s protecting families, supporting officers, or helping neighbors build stronger financial futures.
I’m running for Sheriff because I believe this county deserves a leader who listens, leads with integrity, and puts people over politics. I’ve worn the badge, balanced budgets, and built relationships that matter.
Now, I’m ready to bring that experience to the Sheriff’s Office — to support our deputies, protect our communities, and respect our tax dollars.”
